The school offers education from Form One to Form Six, accommodating both boarding and day students. At Ordinary Level, subjects offered include Civics, History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, Literature in English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Basic Mathematics, Book Keeping, Commerce and Computer Studies.

At Advanced Level, the school offers combinations including HGE (History, Geography and Economics), HGL (History, Geography and Language), EGM (Economics, Geography and Mathematics), HGK (History, Geography and Kiswahili), and HKL (History, Kiswahili and Language).

Today, Ruhuwiko Secondary School continues to operate under the management of the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (JWTZ), serving as one of the secondary schools owned by the military. It remains a co-educational institution offering both boarding and day-schooling options and maintaining a student-teacher ratio conducive to effective learning.
